New Year, New Me

Heyyyy Everyone,

Happy New Year from Disneyland Paris!!

Me and my friend, Becky, decided it would be rude not to take a trip this New Year as we have no commitments keeping us at home and it goes with my '30 before I'm 30'. So, we hopped on the Eurostar and headed to the city of love, Paris! (More blogs to come soon)
It is the season of setting resolutions and trying to become a better person than last year and, as cheesy as it sounds, I think 2017 is my year!! I've been setting resolutions for years that don't last longer than 5 minutes, but this year I have a very determined head on my shoulders and I am focusing on one main resolution.. to be happy! This involves two smaller resolutions:

Lose weight - I know it's such a cliché, everyone says it after pigging out during the festive period, but it’s different for me this year. I haven’t just pigged out for the festive period, in fact I’ve been pigging out for the last year. I don’t regret it one bit, I have lived life to the full, especially in my last few months of living in Australia, I ate out every night and drank copious amounts of alcohol. My calorie intake went a bit out of control, but I enjoyed myself. Now it’s time to get back into shape! I am doing dry January, so no alcohol will be touching my lips. I’ve also decided to not eat bread for the month of Jan, because this is something I eat far too much of. I am exercising more and I have brought Niomi Smart’s new book ‘Eat Smart’ to cook some delicious healthy meals. I’ve set myself a target weight for the end of Feb so I’ll let you know how it goes!!

Save money – I’m pretty good at saving money anyway, but I have something in particular that I want to save for… a house!! I’ve got to the age where I am in need of my own space, I’ve lived on my own long enough now to know that I am capable of supporting and looking after myself and I want to do it in my own home. I am opening a Save To Buy ISA and hope that by the end of this year I will be in a position to start looking for the right little property all for me!!

So there you have it, I’m keeping it simple this year so that I stick to it. What are your New Year’s resolutions??

Ciao EmmaJessica <3
