Dating Advice

Heyyyy Everyone,

In true Bridget Jones style I spend my Saturday nights with a bottle of wine, a tub of Ben & Jerry's, and a RomCom movie that will make me feel rubbish about my life. Oh the joys of the single life.
I'm not asking for sympathy, in fact all isn't bad in my romantic life, because I have started dating! I took the plunge and put myself online, something I said I wouldn't do until I was in my 40's, but when my friend told me her success story of meeting her man online I thought I need to get myself on this. How else am I going to meet my man? I don't trust men on a night out because they are just after one thing, and lets be honest that fit bloke sat opposite me on the train isn't going to start up a conversation with me, in which we discover we are soul mates, because quite frankly that only happens in the movies!
I can't say I'm very good at 'dating'. In fact I'm awful. I have two settings, I either don't stop talking (word vomit), or can't find any words (awkward silences). Most relationships I have been in have been friendships that have turned into relationships, so there hasn't been any formal 'dates' involved. I've learnt a few things since I have spiced my love life up a bit and one of the first things I realised was that we all think/worry about the same things, so I thought I would give you some advice for you if your dating (because I'm sure your worrying about the same things I worry about).
1. When you first meet him what if you don't recognise him? Make sure before you meet him you have not just seen his dating profile pictures, but you have also added him on Facebook or Instagram so that you've studied all his pictures. Remember this is not Catfish, he is going to look like his pictures and you have looked at them enough to immediately know its him when he approaches you. I always get to the place we are meeting 5 minutes early so that he has to approach me.
2. What if there are awkward silences? Have a list of things to ask him so that you can avoid them silences as much as possible, but I don't think awkward silences are a bad thing. If they do occur you obviously aren't a match, and you will be able to say we just don't have a lot to talk about so this is not going to work.

3. What if I just want to leave? Plan a day date and worn your date in advance that you have plans that evening. That way you have a time limit and if you really are having a bad date you can get away by saying you need to get ready for your evening. Or if your having the most amazing time you could 'get a text' *wink* and find out your evening plans have been cancelled and you now have the whole evening to spend with your new found love!

4. Who is going to pay? There is always that awkward moment when you come to pay and he offers but you don't know whether he means it and you try to pay and he gives you your money back and, oh it can go on! I suggest you go to a bar where you pay for drinks straight away. He will get the first drink, then when you see the glasses getting low, get your purse out ready and ask if he wants another, at this point if he says 'yeah I'll get it', get up from the table and say 'my round' whilst walking away so that he has no choice but to stay at the table and watch your things. Then your equal and there are no 'bill fights'.

5. What if I like him and he doesn't like me? A personal favourite of mine. Firstly, you obviously have some attraction to each other otherwise you wouldn't be on the date so don't assume that he doesn't like you at all. If he doesn't like you enough for a second date when you were planning the wedding, its because he notices something that you missed when you were blinded by his good looks, remember just because he's fit doesn't make him the perfect boyfriend!

I hope that has helped, have you got any good advice for me??

Heyyyy Everyone,

Grateful: [greyt-fuh l] warmly or deeply appreciative of kindness or benefits received; thankful.

This weeks topic is short but sweet and is massively important to me, because I have a lot to be grateful for. I think it is so important sometimes in life to sit back and realise what you have to be grateful for. Currently in my life I have so much to be grateful for it’s overwhelming. A lot of what is happening in my life at the moment would not be possible without the people around me, that includes, family, friends, and most importantly my parents.

Don't ever forget to say thank you, because them small words mean the world. I don't know how to thank the people in my life enough. I'm so grateful I wish I could buy everyone new houses to thank them, but realistically that's never going to be possible. What I can do though is say a big, huge, enormous thank you and trust me, I will not stop saying them words to the amazing people in my life.

Who are you grateful for at the moment? Go and thank them right now!

A BIG Announcement

Heyyyy Everyone,
Today's blog is very exciting for me because I have an announcement. I have been blogging now for almost 2 years and I love it!! Whether 200 people read a post or only 10 I don't really mind because I know that I have enjoyed writing it. I have never pushed my blog to become big, I've put them on my twitter and Facebook every now and then, and often let my family know if I have written something new, but never really aimed to get the hundreds of follows some blogs have. However, recently I have come to a crossroads in my life where I need to start making some massive decisions. Everyone I have spoken to about my current situation and where I want to be in the next few years has said that the best job I could have is a job where I never have to work a day in my life. That really got me thinking and for me that job would be blogging/internet life. I really considered how this would work and where I could start and I realised what I really want to do is take my blog to the next level. So that's when I decided I should go for it and ....... Start a YouTube Channel!!!!!!!!
If you follow me on twitter or Instagram you will notice I have filmed my first video and I am working on getting my channel up to my high standards in the hope to launch it on Sunday. My intention is then to publish a video every Sunday! Just writing this has put the biggest smile on my face, I'm SOOOO excited!
I've wanted to make a YouTube channel since I started my blog, but there is a lot more to learn than I realised and it has taken me this long to feel that I am at a reasonable enough standard to actually put something on the internet! There's so much work that has to go into this channel and I'm learning a lot but I'm still not 100% and I hope you can bare with me whilst I still learn, I just couldn't wait any longer!  If you are here for the blog and have no interest in videos, do not worry, I will continue to write and keep my blog running because it's my baby and I've worked a lot on this over the last few years, there's no way I'm dropping it! However, if you are a fan of YouTube and fancy watching my videos, maybe even subscribing to me, then follow me on Twitter and I will be tweeting my first video on Sunday. You could also go straight to my YouTube Channel and Subscribe now so you definitely don't miss the new video, however please ignore my Channel URL, I'm having problems sorting that at the moment, if there are any 'YouTube URL' experts that want to help me out that would be very much appreciated.
I'm not going to be able to sleep until Sunday now! Do you have a YouTube channel or blog? Comment below so I can check it out!

Sun Cream Review

Heyyyy Everyone,

As it's the time when everyone is booking their summer holidays I thought I would review some sunscreens for you. I have been travelling around America for 2 months and have hit heights of 50 degrees so I have got through a fair bit of sun cream and I’ve got some very mixed reviews.

My Fave! – Piz Buin is my ultimate favourite. The 'Ultra Light Sun Spray' was my chosen cream this time. It’s not the cheapest but it’s also by far not the most expensive, it costs £15.50 in boots at the moment.  I feel like it’s worth paying a little extra for some Piz Buin. It rubs in well, isn’t greasy, smells delicious and I’ve never burnt wearing it, what more could you want from a sun cream?

Good and cheap – Nivea 'protect and moisturise'. This sun cream is on the cheaper side and is normally on offer in boots or Superdrug so you can get a good deal. It's currently £6.50 from boots.  I’ve also had no problems with burning with is and if you get the spray bottle it is easy to apply.

Expensive – P20 is on the high end side, it is expensive. It's sold in Superdrug for £24.99. I managed to find it this year in TKMaxx and got it for a little bit cheaper, £17.99, but that was still expensive in my eyes. I know a lot of people that don’t like this sun screen because it is an oil and can dye clothes/towels during application. I never use this oil/sun cream unless I already have a slight tan already because it is not strong enough to stop me burning. However, once I have a slight tan I find it the best thing to use to get to a cracking colour!

Terrible – Nivea Invisible Protect. This was the worst sun screen I tried. It says ‘non-greasy’, LIES, it is so greasy! It also runs out soooo quickly because it’s not very spreadable so I ended up taking off the ‘spray’ and just pouring it into my hands. It didn’t feel like it covered me well enough for the sun so I ended up reapplying a different sun cream to be sure not to burn. My mum brought me this and I didn't realise how expensive it was, its on offer in Superdrug but is still £8.49 on offer!! All in all just a fail!

Have you used any sun creams I need to try? Or any I majorly need to avoid?

June 2015: By Any Means

Heyyyy Everyone,

Sorry for the rubbish image quality, google just didn't provide this time #fail

After enjoying my last detective/crime novel I decided to go for another one, and I've heard good things about Ben Sanders before so thought this would be a good option. I really, really liked this book. I'm not going to give any of the plot away, all I'm going to say is that what I liked most about it was how it pulled together a few different cases, I think it would make a good movie. However, it did end very abruptly, and there's nothing worst than loving a book and then it having a bad ending. Don't let that put you off the book though, it's worth a read even if the ending isn't as good as the middle.

Next month I am going to read 'Numbers' by Rachel Ward, I'm excited to read this because I have absolutely no idea what it is about. My mum gave it me to read and I trust her judgement so I decided to not even read the synopsis and just dive straight into it.
