May 2015: The Long Close Call

Heyyyy Everyone,

Went for something a bit different this month didn't I ay! I never know how to categorise these books into a genre, is there a genre called detective/crime? I guess it would fit in that. I very much enjoyed reading a bit of a different genre this time. I got very hooked into this book and it didn't take me long to finish it.

The general 'gist' to this story is a police office shoots a robber during a bank raid and once the family of said robber find out his life is turned upside down. What I really liked about this book is that the police office, Robbie McLaughlan, also had an interesting past and whilst being on the run from the bank robbers family he dives into his history.

I would say it was quite an easy read, but obviously a lot different to the easy-reading rom-coms I usually read! Don't rush out to buy this book but if you fancy a crime novel and want something easy to read whilst your on the beach this summer then it's not a bad choice at all!

As I enjoyed this genre so much, I have decided to pick up another crime/detective novel for next month. 'By Any Means' by Ben Sanders.

Do you normally stick to one genre or read a few? Know any good crime novels I can get stuck into?

Ciao EmmaJessica <3
