Inspirational People

Heyyyy Everyone!

My quote for the week is:

My blog comes a little late this week as this weekend I moved back to Sheffield for my final year of university. Entering my final year means the 'real' world is not far off. Thinking about where I am going to take my life next and what I want to do has made me look at inspirational figures in my life for, well, inspiration!

Like most people there are celebrities that I consider inspirational in my life, I also thank Zoella for inspiring me to enter the world of blogging/vlogging, but one of my biggest inspirations is my Stepmum, Kirsty Pilgrim.

Your personal inspirational figure will be associated to what you want to do in life. Maybe you look at the traveller in your family and want to one day go to all the amazing places they have been, or the career focused figure and want to build your career similar to how they have. Its difficult to pin one family member as an inspirational figure. Obviously I am inspired by a lot of people in my family. Both my parents are career driven and it inspires me how hard they have worked to get where they are in life. However, what inspires me the most about my stepmum is she has shown me it IS possible to have everything. Why settle for just a career, or just to be the 'traveller'? I certainly couldn't. I would love to go traveling after university, I also want to build my career and in between the two I'd like to get married and have a family. That is exactly what my stepmum has done.

This summer in France (Left to Right; My Stepmum, My dad, Me)

A little back ground- Kirsty studied at university, after her degree she went traveling to Australia, working and traveling for 6 months. When she was 24 she met my dad. She began her career as an Estate Agent at about 26 where she worked her ass off and built up to a branch manager. In 2007 my dad and stepmum tied the knot. It was a perfect fairytale day! My little sister came along in August 2008. The career and family hasn't stopped the traveling, in fact at 5 years old my sister has already been taken to Australia and Thailand, and my stepmum makes sure she gets her 'sun fix' with at least one holiday a year.

In my mind, she has ticked all the life aspiration boxes. She is well traveled, she has a beautiful family and she has focused and worked hard when needed to build her career amazingly. What more could anyone need?

Who is your inspirational figure? Comment below to tell me about why they inspire you. Look out for my next blog on Friday.
